Colombo Dockyard lays Indian ferry keel

On 20 April Sri Lanka’s Colombo Dockyard laid the keel of the first of a pair of 400-passenger, 1,200 dwt ferries for the Administration of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep (UTL), India. This is the second series of vessels that Colombo has built for UTL. GL Noble Denton designed the new pair, with Neilsoft of India providing the detailed design engineering.
