DFDS snaps up Norfolkline

The Danish operator, DFDS, has acquired Norfolkline from the AP Møller-Maersk group, triggering a process of consolidation in the North European ferry sector. The deal involves payment of €346 million in cash and a share swap that sees AP Møller-Maersk becoming a major shareholder in DFDS with a 31 per cent stake.
