DP allows shuttle tankers to reduce main engine revs

Four Amundsen-class shuttle tankers commenced North Sea operations in the last year for Teekay, each with enhanced DP2 features, including Kongsberg’s controls and positioning reference systems, and the latest Furuno bridge electronics. These ships are designed to withstand the harsh weather and sea conditions found in the region and provide the highest levels of availability, regardless of crude loading operations or sea state.
