Flying solo – no longer an option?

Over the past few months signs have been growing that independent ‘stand-alone’ ferry operations are becoming less and less viable, with joint services, acquisitions and mergers the order of the day. On the Baltic we now have TT-Line and Scandlines pooling capacity on a key route, while towards the end of last year DFDS purchased Norfolkline from Maersk, creating a major ferry operations business with interests on the Irish Sea, English Channel, North Sea and Baltic.
