Hyundai Heavy wins billion dollar mega-container vessel order

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a US$1.2 billion contract to build 10 mega-container vessels. The South Korean shipbuilding company is the largest in the world and, following the announcement, rose by 3.7 per cent in the Seoul trading index. The ships, each with the capacity to transport 13,800 teu, have been ordered by Greece-based shipmanagement company Enesel. Delivery of the vessels is expected from the second half of 2013. All 10 container vessels will be operated by Taiwan-headquartered....
