The Annual OSJ Conference has established itself as the foremost yearly international event and meeting point for all those involved in the offshore support vessel sector. It is widely recognised as being the ultimate forum for gathering intelligence, networking and providing a strategic focus on the OSV market. The 2010 conference takes place on 17-18 February in London and will be the fourth annual event, with nearly 300 industry executives attending in both 2008 and 2009.
To develop the conference to meet the specific needs of the market and to keep the programme both topical and relevant, particularly in the current demanding economic conditions, an advisory panel has been assembled comprising of leaders from across the offshore/OSV industry.
The panel, chaired by Riviera Maritime Media’s events director Mike Porter, has members representing shipowning, shipbuilding, class, industry association, ship design, shipbroking and the media, whose wealth of knowledge and experience will contribute significantly to the development of the conference programme.
The panel consists of:
• Ian Coates, research and marketing director, Derrick Offshore Ltd
• Arnstein Eknes, business director OSVs, DNV
• Borge Nakken, head of corporate project department, Farstad Shipping
• Ian Giddings, technical advisor, IMCA
• Neil Patterson, managing director/partner, Offshore Ship Designers
• Erik Haakonsholm, vice president, STX Europe Offshore & Specialised Vessels
• David Foxwell, editor, Offshore Support Journal, Riviera Maritime Media
• Mike Porter, events director, Riviera Maritime Media (chairman).
“It is important to Riviera Maritime Media, as organisers of the Annual OSJ Conference, that we harness the advice of these distinguished panel members to help shape the future of our flagship event and further cement it as the foremost international OSV conference in the market. I am certain that such a powerful gathering of minds will help us to achieve our event objectives for 2010,” said Mike Porter. The first meeting of the panel will take place on 30 October 2009 at London’s Millennium Gloucester Hotel.
