New fire systems ordered for Triton

After more than a decade of North Sea service, the oil company owner of the Triton FPSO has upgraded the fire-fighting system. GE Oil & Gas has replaced the system that uses sea water for dousing fires on the topsides. GE subcontracted Wärtsilä Valves subsidiary John Mills Valves to supply the bronze globe valve and flanges for this. The Newcastle-based company said GE wanted a non-standard valve with alternative flanging and face-to-face dimensions. John Mills Valves’ opera....
