Sampling guidelines delay BWT ratification

The IMO Sub-Committee on Bulk Liquids and Gases (BLG) has agreed changes to draft ballast water sampling and analysis guidelines that will be used by Port State Control. These could potentially be very damaging to shipowners if adopted by the IMO, contrary to what had previously been agreed by its Marine Environment Protection Committee, suggests the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
