Taken from: Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery April/May 2012

IHC Beaver dredgers designed and built by Dutch specialist IHC Merwede commonly feature Cummins high speed engines for propulsion and power generation. The dredger range offers designs for dredging at depths from 6m to 29m. A number of larger Beaver dredgers, with working depths from 18m to 25m, are powered by Cummins QSK60 main engines delivering 1,641kW at 1,860 rpm. Electrical power is generated by sets driven by Cummins QSM11-D or KTA38 (D) M1 engines.  MP
