CFD tools optimise cruise ship open deck design

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) can be used by ship designers to improve the leisure facilities on cruise ships by modelling wind velocities and smoke plumes. Glasgow-based Safety at Sea has used CFD for design and analysis work in connection with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL) ships, including Oasis of the Seas.
