Classic vessel refitted to comply with Solas

Amendments to IMO’s Safety of Life at Sea (Solas) regulations that came into force in October 2010 have meant many older vessels face extensive refurbishment or scrapping. One of the cruise ships affected was Classic International Cruises’ (CIC) 9,563gt Funchal, which began life as the Portuguese presidential yacht in 1961.
