Fallpipe ship completed by thriving builder

Due to enter service shortly, Rockpiper, Boskalis’ new fallpipe ship can carry 24,000 tonnes of rock and is equipped to carry out precise rock dumping work in water depths of more than 1,000m. Equipped with a dynamic positioning system, the 159m, double-hull vessel can be navigated very precisely whilst lowering rocks through a fallpipe at a controlled rate in order to provide protection to cables and offshore pipelines. A naming ceremony for Rockpiper was held on 28 January 2012 at Keppe....
