G6 Alliance starts Suez Canal port calls

The G6 consortium, comprising APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui OSK Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line, has announced that its new Asia-Black Sea service (ABX) will be calling at the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT). The SCCT, the largest terminal of the eastern Mediterranean, is equipped with 18 cranes, 2,400m of quay and a year-round draught capacity of 15m. The terminal handled three million teu in 2011, a figure set to increase to over five mil....
