Maintenance cost savings achieved by software upgrades

Container ship operator Horizon Lines has improved the management of its vessel maintenance and reduced costs by using dedicated software. The US-flag shipowner used additional site-based training to realise the full benefits from implementing ABS Nautical Systems’ NS5 software. Horizon Lines used the computerised maintenance management software (CMMS) to enhance the planning of daily repair activities and drydockings.
