Naval applications remain the mainstay for gas turbines

The last 12 months has seen mixed activity in the gas turbine market. Traditional suppliers have exited the marine sector and research projects have been shelved. At the same time new models have been developed, pioneering concepts unveiled and major contracts awarded. Pratt & Whitney is no longer actively marketing gas turbines for marine applications, preferring to concentrate on oil and gas markets.
