Novel control system serves MJP jets

A new system from Swedish designer MJP Waterjets combines steering and reversing of two jets simultaneously in a central column, operating both jets in parallel via a single hydraulic control. The CSUI concept was tested last year on the French landing craft CNIM EDA-R, whose two different operating conditions – barge mode and catamaran mode – respectively call for the jets to operate in the waterline and deep down under the water.
