An innovative heavy lift vessel – reportedly the largest semi-submersible ever built – is completing at Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery in fourth-quarter 2012 to Dutch operator Dockwise Shipping, which currently fields a fleet of 19 semi-subs. The 275m-long x 70m-wide/117,000 dwt Type o design Dockwise Vanguard will be powered by an outfit of Wärtsilä medium speed engines promising a speed of 14 knots.
