Shiprepair - The NEW networking event

Background: Riviera Maritime Media Ltd is partnering with Alan Thorpe (A&A Thorpe), publisher of the Ship Repair Journal and the Ship Repair Newsletter to bring this new networking and information event to the market.

Through industry feedback generated by direct consultation and a globally distributed questionnaire, it was apparent that there is a need and the time has come for a fresh shiprepair industry event based in the UK. 80 per cent of those asked agreed with this.

In direct response to our questions “what does the market want, what will attract shipowners and shipmanagers, and what will create a ‘meeting place’” the clear message was that the primary function of any new event should be social and networking, focused on delivering a unique opportunity for representatives of shipowners/managers to meet and network with shipyards/agents, specialised repair and maintenance companies, suppliers and service providers.

Knowledge capture and promotional opportunities are secondary but remain important elements of this launch event.

The event: Planned as an informal afternoon/evening networking event, the 2010 programme:

● offers a unique informal setting for shipowners and managers to meet and network with shipyards, agents, specialised repair and maintenance companies, suppliers and service providers

● plays host to the launch of some exciting new developments including training, professional development and industry representation for ship superintendents

● provides unrivalled promotional opportunities for leading shiprepair sector companies to reach many senior industry representatives in one place, at one time.

Shiprepair is free to attend. By Invitation Only.

More exciting developments and London venue to be announced shortly.
