Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference

Conference overview

Two cost-effective events in one

Held in partnership with Asia Pacific Maritime, the Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference will be the perfect international forum for information gathering and networking and has been designed with maximum flexibility of delegate fees and times in mind to allow you ample opportunity to attend both the conference and the region’s foremost industry exhibition.

Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference

This innovative event addresses some of the major challenges faced by international shipowners and shipmanagers in this period of global economic uncertainty, the operational optimisation required to retain profitability whilst maintaining safety and quality, and the opportunities that are on offer.

The Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference consists of two sessions:

Talking Tankers
Talking Tanks: Coating, cleaning and carriage of cargo

The event, organised and delivered by Reed Exhibitions and co-organised by Riviera Maritime Media Events, is officially supported by Tanker Shipping & Trade, the world’s leading magazine dedicated to coverage of the technical and commercial aspects of the world’s tanker industry.

The Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference and its sister events taking place at Asia Pacific Maritime follow the common theme of ‘operations, optimisation, opportunities’.

The IMO Ballast Water Management Convention and the pending US Coast Guard rules will mandate biological treatment of ballast water for internationally trading tankers. Several of the Type Approved and developing treatment technologies change the characteristics of ballast water. This has implications for the requirements of the IMO Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) for ballast tanks. How do these two regulations intersect? How should tanker operators evaluate available ballast water treatment technologies in light of the PSPC requirements. Should shipyards care about this? Peter McNulty, President of NEI Treatment Systems, will discuss this topic at the upcoming Riviera Maritime Media Tanker Shipping & Trade Asia Conference.
