How are shipowners using marine electronics and communications technology and what do shipowners want from marine IT? The conference will start with an structured debate hosted by ship operators to set the scene on what the critical current market interests, demands and issues are.
Session Two: Ecdis and e-navigation
The key issues in 2012 and what to expect in 2013. With so much activity surrounding ecdis it is important that all involved understand not only how to train staff on these systems but also on how to best implement, adapt and operate them to significantly improve navigational safety and efficiency.
Session Three: Enhancing the efficiency of shipboard operations
Cutting costs and ensuring greater fuel efficiency is paramount to vessel operators. This session will demonstrate how shipowners and managers are utilising marine IT in order to achieve this.
Session Four: Assessing the right communications solution for shipowners
A session exploring how communications-facilitated applications are being used to enhance vessel/fleet performance.
Session Five: The future of satellite communications
With the emergence of new technology, satellites and reseller packages what does the future hold for ship operators? How can fleet managers keep updated to ensure that they are not paying way over the odds for their service and ensure they are operating the most reliable and cost effective communications strategy?
Session Six: Critical issues
With continual change in marine electronics and communications, the human element can not be ignored. It is vital that we have a true understanding of the shipmasters' concerns and that of his crew. It is also important that whilst adapting to new technology and the implications of this that we understand what the future holds. This session will look at both the human element as well as providing an industry perspective on what the future holds.
