Marine Electronics & Communications

Editorial Focus

Covering technological developments on board and ashore, Marine Electronics & Communications includes
regular features examining ship-to-shore communications, navigation systems, control and automation, and
shipmanagement systems, as well as wider IT and software innovations for bridging the ship-to-shore interface. ‘Operator feedback’ is a new regular feature for 2012, which will focus on shipowners’ IT and communications operations and requirements. This is a chance for operators to compare what they want with what they are offered.

Each issue will highlight the technology available for various ship types: tankers, offshore vessels, container ships, bulk carriers, fishing vessels and passenger ships. Marine Electronics & Communications’ editor, Martyn Wingrove, draws upon 15 years’ experience of reporting on and analysing the marine and offshore sectors. He is supported by Alan Welcome, consultant editor for navigation, who is a Master Mariner with seagoing experience of most types of commercial ships. Regional and specialist correspondents complete the team.
