Riviera Maritime Media is investing in Passenger Ship Technology to nurture the continuing growth of this journal, which specialises in cruise ships and ferries of all types operating anywhere in the world. Depth of coverage will be increased by a bigger editorial team producing the journal as a quarterly, in a new format.
Passenger Ship Technology’s editor, Clive Woodbridge, has been joined by editor-in-chief Susan Parker, well known throughout the cruise shipping business, and deputy editor Clare Nicholls, who is one of Riviera Maritime Media’s in-house editors. Susan provides an experienced perspective on today’s cruise ship industry, enabling her to address the issues that matter to this sector. Clare is focusing on ferry coverage, which includes a section of the journal specifically about fast ferries.
Publishing the journal four times in 2010 allows each subject to be covered in greater depth, and readers will receive more information in a year than before. A new travel sized format has been chosen as Riviera Maritime Media found that many of Passenger Ship Technology’s subscribers catch up with their reading while on the move. The layout has been redesigned to suit the new size – rather than simply using smaller print – maintaining the objective of presenting technical information clearly. The travel-sized copy of the journal is a handy complement to the digital version.
