Covering technological developments on board and ashore, Marine Electronics & Communications includes regular features examining ship-to-shore communications, navigation systems, control and automation, dynamic positioning, remote and simulator training, and shipmanagement systems, as well as wider IT and software innovations for bridging the ship-to-shore interface.

Each issue will highlight the technology available for various ship types: cruise, offshore vessels, tankers, gas carriers, container ships and fishing vessels. Shipowners’ IT and communications requirements and operations will be examined in the popular ‘Operator feedback’ features in each issue.

Marine Electronics & Communications’ editor, Martyn Wingrove, draws upon more than 15 years’ experience of reporting on and analysing the marine and offshore sectors. He is supported by Alan Welcome, consultant editor for navigation, who is a Master Mariner with seagoing experience of most types of commercial ships. Regional and specialist correspondents complete the team.
