Martyn Wingrove, Editor Martyn Wingrove has been writing about shipping and energy since 1997 when he worked with offshore consultants Smith Rea Energy and Douglas Westwood. Prior to that, he worked on oil drilling rigs in the North Sea. In 2000 Martyn joined Informa Group as a journalist on Energy Day and Lloyd’s List, becoming energy editor in 2007. He joined Riviera Maritime Media as editor of Marine Electronics & Communications in 2010. Covering technological developments on board and ashore, Marine Electronics & Communications includes regular features examining ship-to-shore communications, navigation systems, control and automation, dynamic positioning, remote and simulator training, and shipmanagement systems, as well as wider IT and software innovations for bridging the ship-to-shore interface.

Marine Electronics & Communications’ editor, Martyn Wingrove, draws upon more than 15 years’ experience of reporting on and analysing the marine and offshore sectors. He is supported by Alan Welcome, consultant editor for navigation, who is a Master Mariner with seagoing experience of most types of commercial ships.
