| Since its launch in 2007 Marine Electronics & Communications has described and analysed advances in electronics and communications, and established itself as an authoritative voice in this maritime sector. As electronics and communications systems assume greater importance for enhancing ships' performance, the journal has proved popular with information communication technology (ICT) personnel in ship owners’, operators’ and managers’ technical departments for the quality of information it provides. We are building on this during 2013 by adding new features and expanding the number of editorial pages, allowing us to increase the depth of certain key features.
With topical discussions focusing on ECDIS, bridge systems, and VSAT on board modern ships, and the uptake of fleet management software, vessel performance monitoring and communications between ship and shore, these are exciting and busy times for Marine Electronics & Communications.
As well as publishing six issues of the journal in 2013, we are also publishing the fourth annual issue of the popular supplement A Complete Guide to ECDIS, and the second issue of the highly acclaimed A Complete Guide to VSAT.
