The revamped design of Passenger Ship Technology will allow expanded coverage of the operational and technical aspects of cruise ships and ferries. Focusing on the ships themselves, rather than the destinations, the journal addresses cruise ship, ferry and fast ferry planning, design, construction, outfitting, equipping, operation and maintenance – and the legislation and experience that influence these.

Coverage of the ship-to-shore interface and onboard operations is also increasing, encompassing mooring; shore power; vehicle, passenger and luggage handling systems; and provisions stores and waste logistics, as well as health and sanitation regulations, crew welfare and training. Profiles of new ships include interviews with senior owner and yard executives to reveal the strategy and processes that went into the deliveries. Also profiled are cruise ship, ferry and fast ferry operators, as well as yards involved in the passenger ship sector.

The journal’s coverage of topical issues such as fuel and energy efficiency, legislation, the environment and emissions specifically addresses how these affect cruise ships and ferries. Passenger Ship Technology also incorporates details of hardware and software, electronics, machinery, equipment, rules and regulations.
