Consort Express Lines and Pacific Towing are upgrading their technical and crew management systems with new software
Both are part of Steamships Trading Co within the Swire Group and provide marine services in southeast Asia. They will install Tero Marine’s TM Master applications for procurement, vessel maintenance, crew management, quality assurance and environment management.
Papua New Guinea-based Consort Express Lines will install this software on its fleet of general cargo vessels. These geared, multipurpose vessels provide scheduled liner services to the 17 main ports in Papua New Guinea.
Pacific Towing will deploy TM Master on its 14 tugs, providing marine services throughout Papua New Guinea, Oceania and southeast Asia.
Consort Express Lines chief operating officer Chris De Villiers said TM Master has “product features and functions which suited our internal procedures and business needs”.
He said crew on these vessels did not need intensive training sessions to use the fleet management software.
“Tero Marine was able to provide the right solutions to our needs,” Mr De Villiers said. “In challenging times like these, we need to focus on keeping the ships sailing.”
Having highly professional staff, a well-maintained fleet and commitment to safety, environmental protection and community enables Consort Express and Pacific Towing to provide high-value, sustainable services.
Tero Marine TM Master fleet management software suite includes modules for planned maintenance, procurement, crew management, safety, quality and environment functions.
It is part of the Ocean Technologies Group, which includes maritime e-learning training providers Seagull, Videotel, Maritime Training Services and leading English language testing company Marlins, plus document and HSEQ solutions provider COEX.
