Achieving significant reductions in fuel consumption, maintenance costs and emissions

To complement the launch of our hugely successful webinar week series, Riviera’s 2020 conference programme has moved online, allowing our global communities to continue to connect, network and gather knowledge whilst remaining safe until our live conference programme returns. Networking is a key element of our virtual conferences with ample opportunity to arrange your meetings, keep on top of your daily routine, and still have some personal time.

After the successful launch event, in 2019, the Maritime Hybrid & Electric Conference returns to bring together industry leaders and discuss the latest developments in maritime hybrid & electric technologies. The popularity and success of this event served to highlight the need for knowledge-sharing in this growing sector.

Driven by the compelling benefits of reduced fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and maintenance, the application of hybrid & electric and hydrogen fuel cells technologies is accelerating across the marine sector. These technologies will clearly have a pivotal role in the years ahead as shipping transitions towards decarbonisation.

Through a series of individual presentations and panel discussions, this two-day conference will explore the rapid advances in these technologies, examining the technical, regulatory and operational challenges and benefits. Central to the agenda will be the discussion of real-world applications and operational experiences from Europe and international vessel owners.

Also addressed on the programme will be the role of government and the availability of ‘green’ financing to support investments in these technologies and shoreside infrastructure at ports, terminals and harbours.

For more than two decades, Riviera Maritime Media has been a leader in producing well-respected marine conferences, exploring key topics, trends and technologies impacting the marine industry. Key to all Riviera events is the sharing of information, expert discussion and analysis and unparalleled networking opportunities. We hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be a lively and insightful virtual event.
