Bee Mar operates three 71-m and five 64-m offshore support vessels in the Gulf of Mexico
The aptly named vessels, which were built by Bollinger Shipyard, are Bumble Bee, Busy Bee and Worker Bee. They serve as environmentally friendly platform supply vessels. The differentiator for these vessels in the Bee Mar fleet is their significant cargo capacity. The largest of the vessels (Bumble Bee), offers 598.1 m3 for fuel, 1,430.9 m3 for liquid mud, 169.9 m3 for dry bulk and 98.4 m3 for fresh water. Loaded to a draft of 4.5 m, the vessel will have a dwt of 3,048.2. The 53.3 m by 14.3 m clear deck has a maximum cargo capacity of 2,032 tonnes.
Powering the ships is a pair of Cummins QSK60-M propulsion engines that deliver 2,000 hp each at 1,800 rpm via twin disc MG5600 gears with 5.76:1 reduction to 205 cm x 172 cm propellers. Cummins power is also responsible for the three 300 kW main generators and the smaller 85 kW generator. Two 750 BHP Schottel, controllable pitch bow thrusters receive dedicated power from a pair of Cummins KTA19 drive engines, while a variable speed electric motor drives the 350 BHP stern thruster.
