The Industrial Solutions business unit of Trelleborg has acquired engineering group Signum Technology Ltd and its subsidiary companies Gall Thomson, KLAW LNG, KLAW Products and Vee Bee Filtration
The Signum acquisition will strengthen Trelleborg’s position as a system provider in key oil and gas market segments, such as ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore LNG transfers.
Signum provides safety solutions for flow control applications, including marine breakaway couplings and safety solutions for LNG transfer systems.
Trelleborg Oil and Marine director Vincent Lagarrigue said “The deal represents a major shift for us as a business, as we continue to develop and strengthen the breadth and depth of our service offering in line with our customers’ needs.
“By integrating Signum’s market-leading technology with our own world-class product range, our customers now have access to an even wider spectrum of fully integrated and customisable solutions for crude oil, chemical and LNG/LPG offshore transfer applications.”
Trelleborg Fluid Handling Solutions president Bill Hagenberg said the acquisition would enable the company to “offer hose-based transfer solutions in demanding environments and build upon other synergies, such as our after-sales service, sales and distribution provisions.”
Headquartered in Wiltshire, England, with three manufacturing sites in the UK and service centres around the world, Signum Technology had sales of approximately £35M (US$45.4M) in 2018.
