Singapore-based Aesen (formerly Miclyn Express Offshore) and Topline Group in the Philippines have formed a joint venture company to pursue opportunities in the offshore energy sector in The Philippines
Aesen Topline Offshore will provide maritime solutions supporting the development of offshore windfarms, offshore energy projects and maritime civil infrastructure in the Philippines.
The joint venture combines Aesen’s expertise in offshore logistics and vessels with Topline’s local market knowledge, regulatory experience and extensive network.
It will primarily engage in marine asset chartering and leasing for projects requiring specialized offshore vessels and marine capabilities.
It will also deliver supply chain solutions, from cargo handling and transportation to customs clearance and freight coordination.
The formation of Aesen Topline Offshore comes as the Philippines emerges as one of Southeast Asia’s most promising offshore wind markets.
Aesen chief executive Darren Ang said, “The Philippines is one of the most exciting growth markets for offshore energy and marine infrastructure.
“As offshore wind developments move closer to execution and infrastructure investments continue to accelerate, there is a growing need for experienced maritime partners capable of delivering safe, reliable and efficient project support services.”
Topline Group chairman, president and chief executive Eugene Erik Lim said, “Through this joint venture, Topline is positioning itself to capture opportunities arising from investment in offshore wind and other marine projects.
“Bringing Aesen’s decades of operational experience in offshore services to the local market, we aim to provide the specialized vessels, logistics and marine capabilities developments will require," said Mr Lim.
“By expanding access to specialized marine assets and offshore capabilities in the Philippine market, we are building a platform that can support developers and enable them to complete complex projects more efficiently,” he added.
