Ailes Marines, which is developing the Saint-Brieuc offshore windfarm in France, has awarded Prysmian an €80M (US$86M) contract to provide the inter-array cables for the project
Prysmian will design, supply, install and commission 90 km of three core 66-kV HVAC XLPE-insulated inter-array cables.
The cable cores will be manufactured at the group’s centres of excellence in Montereau-Fault-Yonne and Gron in France and assembled and finished in Nordenham, Germany. Delivery and commissioning are scheduled for the end of 2022.
The Saint-Brieuc offshore windfarm is being constructed in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc offshore Brittany, 16.3 km off the French coast. When completed, it will have a capacity of 496 MW. The windfarm is due to be fully commissioned in 2023.
