Andriaki Shipping deploys Space X Starlink on tanker fleet

Andriaki Shipping Co has integrated communications with a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation on to its ships to improve seafarer connectivity and welfare.

The Greek shipowner’s fleet of tankers have terminals communicating with Space X’s Starlink satellites as part of a larger package of maritime connectivity. Andriaki Shipping said it is providing free internet access to all its crew members as it “strives to enhance the experience of seafarers” on these tankers.

“Our crew members’ welfare is important to us,” the tanker owner said, “and this advanced technology will ensure they stay connected wherever they are on the seas.”

It upgraded satellite communications across the fleet, providing more bandwidth for operations and crew welfare.
