Fujian Southeast Shipyard contracts Norwegian ship designer to develop design for 150-tonne bollard pull AHTS
China’s Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding has awarded a contract to Breeze Ship Design to design an 150-tonne bollard pull anchor handling tug offshore support vessel (AHTS) for an undisclosed owner.
The ship designer reported the 78-m vessel will be based on its Z 4650 design, with DP2-class capability and “tailored for demanding anchor handling operations in offshore environments – providing optimal performance and operational flexibility.”
Propulsion for the AHTS vessel will be supplied by medium-speed diesel engines, a reduction gearbox featuring power take-off/power take-in functionality, and controllable pitch propellers.
The Norwegian ship designer said the AHTS vessel will have a 3,000-dwt capacity, 500-m2 working deck, and accommodation for 18 crew alongside 32 non-crew personnel.
