Cable manufacturer and installer NKT has confirmed receipt of a contract for the cabling for the Dogger Bank offshore windfarms Creyke Beck A and B
On 20 September 2019, NKT entered a preferred supplier agreement as main contractor for delivery and installation of high-voltage DC onshore and offshore export cable systems for Creyke Beck A and Creyke Beck B.
Now, with an agreement for an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract from the project owners, Equinor and SSE Renewables, NKT has confirmed the order, which is the largest XLPE power cables order ever for the company.
As previously announced, the contract has a value of approximately €360M.
NKT will manufacture four 175km 320kV DC offshore export power cables and four 32km 320 kV DC onshore export power cables. The company will use the cable-laying vessel NKT Victoria to install the cables.
NKT expects production of the power cables to start in 2020.
