Italian manufacturer Castoldi has introduced Turbodrive 490 HCT, an advanced waterjet drive
The company said developing the Turbodrive 490 HCT took 3 years of work and research using advanced CFD software. The waterjet has high propulsive efficiency and is capable of static and dynamic thrust due to its integrated heavy duty gearbox and the gear ratios available. Castoldi said the drive can be finely matched to any engine on the market.
The waterjet’s construction quality features a duplex micro-cast stainless steel impeller and a titanium liner while the production processes features an anti-corrosion hard anodising treatment protecting the aluminium alloy components and three layers of special paint.
The drive includes extra accessories like the clear-duct unclogging system that performs impeller reversing and intake grid opening simultaneously, an interceptor built-in integration and various control systems, among which is the high-end electronic ACES with position keeping, unmanned interface, autopilot integration and hybrid power.
Deliveries for Turbodrive 490 HCT have already begun.
Castoldi has also signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Spanish distributor Pasch y Cia SAU.
