Walk-to-work/offshore accommodation company Chevalier Floatels says 2021 “has started quite well” and it has secured contracts for two of its vessels in the offshore wind sector
After fixing one of its hotel barges long term for an offshore oil and gas project in Africa at the end of 2020, the company has secured awards for two different projects for its walk-to-work accommodation vessels.
DP Galyna has been awarded a contract in the North Sea. The project is for 11 months firm and will see the vessel assisting with maintenance work on a German windfarm. The project has already commenced.
The second award is for a project starting early in April 2021. This project will utilise DP Gezina for an estimated 41 weeks for a project in British waters. The vessel will also be working in the offshore wind energy sector.
Both vessels will be used to transfer personnel via an Ampelmann gangway and as hotel vessels to accommodate windfarm technicians.
