Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard has launched tugs and delivered passenger ferries to Chinese operators in the last two months.
Its latest tug launch involved a vessel built for Binzhou Port Group. Bingang Towing 8 is an azimuthing stern drive (ASD) tug for harbour and coastal towage and handling ships at terminals.
It has two ASD thrusters providing total power of 2,942 kW. Bingang Towing 8 was launched on 16 November and is being prepared for delivery.
Jiangsu Zhenjiang’s latest ferry project was completed on 7 November when it delivered vehicle ferry Jiangsu Ludu 3012. This 89.5-m vessel will be operated by Zhenjiang-Yangzhou in Jiangsu Province.
Jiangsu Ludu 3012 has a breadth of 15.7 m and a depth of 3.5 m. It has four lanes for vehicles and a maximum load of 700 tonnes.
In October, there was another ferry delivery ceremony at Jiangsu Zhenjiang’s shipyard. It completed a vehicle ferry for Tongsha Automobile Ferry Management on 16 October. This is an ASD circle ferry also for operation in Jiangsu province. It is similar in design and construction to Jiangsu Ludu 3012.
On 26 October, Jiangsu Zhenjiang launched a towage and fire-fighting tug for an unnamed Chinese owner. This ASD tug has a total power delivery of 5,148 kW.
Jiangsu Zhenjiang launched and delivered more ASD tugs in September, including Yangkoutuo 5 to Nantong Yangkou Port Co on 30 September and two ASD tugboats on 20 September for unnamed domestic owners.
