Construction of warehouse facility for Nordseecluster underway at Eemshaven

Nordseecluster is a joint offshore wind project of RWE (51%) and Norges Bank Investment Management (49%). The new building, approximately 1,700 m² in size, will be located in the Beatrixhaven at the premises of Clarkson Port Services. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2026. RWE will take a long-term lease on the new facility.

With a planned capacity of 1.6 GW, Nordseecluster A and B will be the largest wind project currently being built off the German coast.

Representatives from the Eemshaven Port Authority, construction company Bouwgroep Noord, Civil Technical Advise & Management company InvraPlus, RWE and Clarkson Port Services BV, broke the ground together to kick-off the construction works, which are scheduled to take around seven months to complete.

Starting mid-2026, a service operation vessel and crew transfer vessels will operate from the base to transport workers to the offshore wind turbines.

The base is designed to support the long-term operation and maintenance of Nordseecluster A and B, which is expected to be fully operational in 2029.
