DOF adds US$220M to backlog with two more Brazilian charters

DOF has scooped up two more long-term charters for anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels from Petrobras, adding US$220M more to its backlog. These latest deals will fix Skandi Fluminense and Skandi Lifter under four-year charters starting in Q1 2026.

2007-built, Brazilian-flagged Skandi Fluminense has a bollard pull of 211 tonnes, while 2009-built Skandi Lifter has a bollard pull of 250 tonnes. Skandi Fluminense will begin operations in January 2026, and Skandi Lifter will be moved to the Brazilian flag and begin operations in February 2026.

These charters were fixed under the same open tender that resulted in previously announced contracts for DOF’s Skandi Logger, Skandi Iguaçu, Skandi Angra, Skandi Paraty and Skandi Urca.

According to previous disclosures, the AHTS Skandi Iguaçu, with a bollard pull of 350 tonnes, was contracted for four years, with expected commencement in February 2026 in sequence with its current contract.

Three other AHTS vessels, Skandi Angra (280 tonnes bollard pull), Skandi Paraty (288 tonnes bollard pull) and Skandi Urca (260 tonnes bollard pull), were fixed for four years with expected commencement in January 2026 in sequence with their current contracts. The scope for these three contracts includes work-class ROVs rated to operate at water depths of up to 3,000 m.

The combined value of these contracts is approximately US$480M.
