In an exclusive collaboration, DOF Subsea and Frontera Offshore are seeking to take advantage of Mexico’s burgeoning offshore sector
The alliance combines offshore services contractor Frontera’s local presence and experience in the Mexican offshore market with DOF Subsea’s vessels, engineering capabilities and subsea survey and installation experience.
The two companies hope to establish a strong position in subsea contracting in the region as the recently opened-up Mexican offshore market continues to grow.
“The energy reform in Mexico has now reached field-development phase for some of the shallow water operators and Pemex are investing heavily to increase production," a statement from Frontera said.
“This combination, together with upcoming deepwater activity, is expected to provide ample opportunity for Frontera-DOF to deliver a full range of services.”
Bergen, Norway-headquartered DOF Subsea’s 25-vessel fleet comprises a mix of construction support vessels, dive support vessels, pipelaying vessels and anchor-handling tug supply vessels.
In July this year, DOF Subsea announced it had secured subsea and IMR contracts in the UK continental shelf and US Gulf of Mexico.
