The Dubai, UAE-located shipyard is installing the IFS Cloud platform for its growing enterprise resource planning and asset management needs
Drydocks World said IFS software would enable it to enhance core systems to deliver operational efficiencies, improved customer service and to automate systems.
Drydocks World chief executive Captain Rado Antolovic said, “This digital transformation programme is important to ensure we deliver world-class service. With this new system our people will be better equipped to do their jobs by working with real-time data, integrative platforms and improved knowledge-sharing that will enable them to focus on the areas of their expertise.”
IFS cloud deployment will expand the use of real-time data to drive optimised decision-making across Drydocks World with enhanced use of core digital technologies such as radio frequency identification devices for improved tracking. IFS cloud will also enable the use of emerging technologies such as augmented reality and robotics as these can be easily embedded into IFS solutions.
This shipyard group is modernising and automating its current production and operation capabilities, consolidating current core systems and processes into one single product built on a common platform.
Drydocks World will use IFS asset management and manufacturing modules to increase transparency and automation at shipyards for newbuilds and vessel repairs.
IFS Middle East and south Asia managing director Mehmood Khan said its digital platform will enable Drydocks World to meet environmental goals and lower costs.
“Drydocks World can harness our managed cloud services to simplify deployment and reduce total cost of ownership with a more environmentally sustainable, cloud-based solution,” said Mr Khan.
Drydocks World completes more than 300 projects a year on average, with a record of handling 42 refurbishment projects simultaneously. The shipyard in Dubai is spread over 200 hectares, with four drydocks and over 3,700 m of berth space.
