Software-as-a-service firm Dualog Nordic has inked a deal with communications company Viasat Inc and German cruise operator Sea Cloud Cruises to supply Viasat’s Ka-band connectivity service across Central America, Europe and the Caribbean
"For many passengers, fast connectivity wherever they are in the world is an increasingly important part of the cruise experience,” said Sea Cloud Cruises chief operating officer Adam Pazdzioch.
“With Viasat technology on board, we know the system has the capability to reliably offer our international passengers better connectivity and speeds so they can stream those playoff game highlights or share videos of their travels with friends and family."
Viasat manager for maritime business development EMEA Stephen Light added, "At Viasat, we believe capacity is the catalyst to an exceptional wifi experience across all connected devices on the vessel.”
“The incredible volume of capacity enabled by our global satellite network allows us to offer consistent – and consistently fast – on board wifi at unmatched, cost-effective pricing."
Additionally, the upgraded consistency and speeds for on-vessel wifi, combined with Dualog’s Business Mail and Dualog Drive data products, enable the cruise operator to integrate its ships with shore operations seamlessly, adding improved operational capacity.
