Equinor has contracted a Scottish engineering group to maintain and operate a production platform and floating storage and offloading ship in the UK sector of the North Sea
Aberdeen, Scotland, UK-headquartered Wood Group has secured a three-year contract extension from Norwegian energy producer Equinor to maintain and operate the Mariner A production platform and Mariner B floating storage and offloading ship.
These facilities produce and export heavy oil from the Mariner field in the northern sector of the UK side of the North Sea.
Wood will provide operations, maintenance, modifications and support services on these assets for Equinor and will deliver upgrades and refurbishments as required. The contract includes a one-year contract extension option that would continue after the three years.
This work, which Wood started in 2020, will be supported by more than 110 employees located at Wood’s offices in Aberdeen.
Wood has a longstanding collaboration with Equinor, supporting global projects including long-term contracts in Norway and Brazil and Equinor’s renewable energy business in the UK.
