International Tanker Management (ITM) has announced the appointment of Chris Kirton as managing director of its Dubai office
Mr Kirton has joined ITM, a division of V.Group specialising in the management of oil and chemical tankers, from Norstar Ship Management.
V.Ships chief executive Franck Kayser said “Chris is a very welcome addition to our team. As a former chief engineer and with over 40 years of experience of ship management gained on various types of vessel, and latterly in senior shore-based roles, he has a lot to bring to our company. He will play a big part in the continued provision of flawless service delivery to our customers. Following a comprehensive handover, Chris is now settled in his new office and role, and we wish him every success.
“It would be remiss of me not to acknowledge the significant contribution of Anil Cariappa, our outgoing ITM managing director. Anil has contributed hugely to the success of ITM over the past 23 years and we wish him a well-deserved and happy retirement.”
Mr Kirton, commented, “ITM has built an experienced team in Dubai which consistently builds strong relations with customers who value the partnerships created and the focus on flawless service delivery offered by ITM. I look forward to continuing to develop and refine our offer even further to ensure we remain the tanker manager of choice.”
Mr Cariappa, said “Passion, knowledge and commitment have always defined ITM, and I am proud to have played my part in the company’s growth over the past two decades. Chris will bring a fresh perspective and I wish him every success in his new role.”
