Subsea 7 has been awarded a “substantial” contract by Woodside to install a gas transmission flowline in support of phase 2 of the Julimar-Brunello Project 200 km offshore northwestern Australia
Under the contract, Subsea 7 will design, procure, install and commission a 22-km 18-in corrosion resistant alloy gas transmission flowline and an umbilical system.
The offshore activities under the contract will be performed in 2021 using Subsea 7’s reel-lay and heavy construction vessels. Subsea 7 has a substantial fleet of high-spec vessels it can utilise for pipelay, construction, survey, remote intervention, diving support, heavy lifting operations, renewables and decommissioning.
The contract was confirmed following a recent FID by Woodside and joint venture partner Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company.
The natural gas produced from the field will be supplied to the Wheatstone LNG Project.
Subsea 7 vice president Australia and New Zealand Andy Woolgar said “Our solution demonstrates the advantages of having a full range of installation and pipelay capabilities in Australia and illustrates how Subsea 7’s global technology portfolio allows us to deliver cost-effective solutions to our clients around the world.”
