Fugro has been awarded a contract to undertake offshore geophysical exploratory works at the Five Estuaries offshore windfarm, a planned extension of the Galloper windfarm in the UK
The work is expected to take place in the southern North Sea from August to November 2021.
Three dedicated vessels will map the characteristics of the seabed and bedrock to assess the conditions around the windfarm and the potential cable locations.
The seafloor and geophysical information from the geophysical surveys will help inform project design and consenting activity and provide information about the seafloor, habitat, local geological and benthic ecological conditions.
Fugro has also been commissioned to carry out offshore site investigation and geophysical work for other RWE-led projects, including Dublin Array in Ireland and North Falls, which is a 50:50 partnership project with SSE in the southern North Sea.
Riviera Maritime Media will provide free technical and operational webinars in 2021. Sign up to attend on our events page
