Marine glass bonding specialist Brombach + Gess has unveiled a flexible liftable and lowerable balustrade solution for cruise ships, river cruise vessels and ferries that combines two products into one system to provide wind protection
Called Balustrademove, the flexible turnkey system can transform outdoor restaurant terraces or sun deck areas on board in particularly windy places into cosy corners.
The Balustrademove System can either be planned as a new installation or used to refit and upgrade existing glass balustrades.
With some 30 years of experience providing glass bonding in commercial shipbuilding, Brombach + Gess explains that the movable pane is extended by lightly pressing it onto the edge of the glass, no electricity is necessary. The released gas pressure springs push the pane upwards, turning the balustrade into a wind protection screen of about 1.9 m.
Lowering the movable pane is done in a similar way; by pressing down lightly, the movable glass element lowers in front of the fixed balustrade glass and finally snaps back into its original position.
The glass is available in different versions, as single glazing, laminated glass, coated or tinted glass and many other possibilities. All components of the entire system are seawater resistant.
