Norway-based cargo pump supplier Framo has developed an oil skimmer based on its TransRec platform that it says can be tailored to meet different operational requirements
Framo said its new product will allow customers to specify a range of options to tailor their systems.
Framo area sales manager Jørgen Brandt Theodorsen said “Regardless of the offshore environment or the characteristics of the oil, the recovery and transfer system provides the capabilities you need to recover more oil when time is not on your side”.
Framo’s base model which underpins the newer model has over 250 installations and contains essential equipment and features required for oil recovery operations in most operational conditions. It includes a portable electric remote-control panel that allows operators to be positioned for the best view of the operation. Operators can also add control and sensor packages designed to offer greater optimisation of oil recovery and prolong the operational windows of equipment in harsh conditions, the company said.
The Framo TransRec system has a range of skimmers designed to handle different types of oil spills.
TransRec is the longest-established oil skimmer system on the market. Alfa Laval-owned Framo, together with Maritime Partner, Norbit Aptomar and NorLense constitute an oil spill recovery vessel group to provide oil spill response solutions.
