Mr Everts said, “I am honoured by the nomination to become CEO of TenneT. TenneT plays a crucial role in the energy transition in the Netherlands and Germany. I look forward to working together with colleagues and stakeholders to build a future-proof and affordable energy system.”
Manon van Beek will remain as CEO until her successor takes up the role.
She said, “TenneT faces the challenge not only of rapidly expanding its infrastructure to solve grid congestion as quickly as possible, but also of making better use of the grid, while keeping the system safe, affordable and reliable. Frans is an experienced leader with deep sector knowledge. I am confident about handing over the baton to him, and wish him every success.”
