GeoSea, part of DEME, has started work on the construction of the Nordsee One offshore windfarm in the German North Sea. Nordsee One is situated approximately 40km north of the island of Juist and will consist of 54 turbines installed in water depths ranging from 25m to 29m. GeoSea’s transport and installation contract includes installation of the monopile foundations and transition pieces. The first monopile has already been installed, and the entire project is due to be completed in six months.
Nordsee One is being executed by the jack-up vessel Innovation, which the company acquired from Hochtief, which recently completed construction of the Godewind windfarm. Cuxhaven will serve as the base port from which the construction work will be executed.
